The Loo family fruit shop sells a wide range of fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, salad mixes, herbs, eggs, dried fruit, nuts, a selection of Chinese groceries and fresh flowers.

COVID-19 Trading At Alert Level 3 – We are Open

We are open daily from 9am–6pm. However we do have to register your details - please use the NZ COVID Tracer app or the book provided - and we do have to space you out. We also ask customers to please stay home if you are sick. Thank you!

Contactless ‘order and collect’ is still available from our shop and we are still providing a local home delivery service. We pick and pack to order (we don’t have set fruit and vegetable boxes) so please contact us to order your goods. That way, we’ll be able to advise you what’s in stock, what will be arriving (produce arrives daily), suggest substitutes and arrange your approximate pick-up time. After-hours pickup is possible (from the back entrance on Stokes Rd), but needs to be pre-arranged.

For orders and enquiries, our contact details are:
T:    09-6304003
M:  027-4770248
E:   kcloofruitcentre@gmail.com

NB. At home, the 5+ A Day Charitable Trust recommends that you wash your fresh fruit and vegetables under cold running water. Don't use soap. Scrub rough textured vegetables (eg, potatoes and carrots) with a brush. This is what you should always do before you eat or cook fresh produce. Also, do try and eat as many fresh fruit and vegetables as you can to improve your physical and mental wellbeing at this time. Hand hygiene remains important. Wash your hands in warm soapy water for at least 20 seconds before preparing recipes, after preparation and before eating. Take care and stay safe and healthy!

About Us

The hardworking Loo family have been in the fruit shop business in Mt Eden for more than sixty years. Sadly, Mr K.C. Loo (pictured), an icon of Mt Eden, passed away on 10 October 2016. However, his legacy lives on via the family fruit shop.

Following the COVID-19 outbreak, we have adjusted our trading hours to the following:

Daily:                   9am - 6pm

Exceptions:        Good Friday (we are closed)

Anzac Day morning (we are open 1-6pm)

                              Christmas Day (we are closed)
